2013/01/12 - Cheltenham Town 1 York City 1 - League 2

For January 12th I'm going back 8 years to a Football League game between Cheltenham Town and York City at Whaddon Road (now rather ridiculously known as the "Jonny-Rocks Stadium").

This was York's first season back in the Football League (the EFL if you will) following 8 years in the Non-League wilderness. City were managed by former European Cup winner Gary Mills and comprised the side that had successfully gained promotion via the Conference Play-Offs the previous season but came surprisingly close to instant relegation and only made themselves safe in the final game of the season. Future City favourites Keith Lowe and Russ Penn (both now at Kidderminster) were appearing for Cheltenham in front of a crowd of 2,881. The result? 1-1
