For January 22nd I'm going back 8 years to 2013 and Aston Villa's League Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg at Villa Park against League 2 (4th Level) Bradford City.
To universal surprise, Bradford had won the 1st Leg 3-1 but Premier League Villa seemed extremely confident of overturning that lead in the 2nd Leg and added to the occasion by issuing everyone with a celebratory flag to wave as the goals rattled in. Sure enough, Villa took the lead through Benteke after 24 minutes but then the wheels fell off. City equalised on 55 minutes making the aggregate score 2-4 in City's favour with only 35 minutes remaining. Villa were hopeless after that and their party was well and truly pooped by City, Substitute Andreas Weimann did get another goal for Villa on 89 minutes but it was too little too late and Bradford became the first 4th level side to make it to a Wembley final of one of the 2 major English Cup competitions.
