2013/02/02 - Peterborough United 2 Burnley 2 - Championship

For February 2nd I'm going back 8 years to 2013 and my fifth and latest visit to London Road (now known as the Weston Homes Stadium) to see Peterborough United take on Burnley in the Championship.

Sean Dyche had taken over the managerial hot seat at Burnley the previous October, succeeding Eddie Howe who had failed to replicate his earlier success at AFC Bournemouth and had decided to return to the Cherries and give it another go. With over 8 years service as Burnley manager, Dyche is now the Premier League manager with the longest tenure. Burnley finished the season solidly in mid-table whereas the Posh were relegated by one point together with Wolves and Bristol City.
Peterborough, are known as the "Posh", apparently since the 1920's when the manager at the time was looking for posh players for a posh new team. Posh Spice tried filing a patent for use of the name Posh in 2002 but was unsuccessful!
This game finished 2-2 with both sides taking turns at leading. The Posh side included Dwight Gayle, George Boyd and Grant McCann whilst Dyche included Kieran Trippier, Charlie Austin and Danny Ings in his Burnley line-up. Attendance 6,648 included Martin and Danielle too.
